Every June 5, the world pauses to think about the planet. We share infographics, sign petitions, and feel, briefly, the weight of what’s being lost.
Then life moves on.
At Over and Above Africa, we believe the pause is not enough. So this World Environment Day, we’re not asking you to simply *think* about Africa’s wildlife. We’re showing you exactly what happens when you act — even just a little.
The Crisis Is Real. So Are Our Solutions.
Africa’s wildlife is under relentless pressure. Poaching networks operate across borders. Habitats shrink as communities and wildlife compete for the same land. Vultures are poisoned to keep the poachers from being discovered as they go about their dreadful deeds. Giraffes are critically endangered and overlooked. Pangolins are trafficked by the tens of thousands, to the point we no longer know how many are still left in the wild - but we do know they are the most endangered mammal.
But in the field, in the dust and heat of real conservation work, dedicated rangers, scientists, and community leaders are pushing back. Every single day. These are the people we continue to seek out.
Over and Above Africa funds them directly.
