"saving the survivors"
We just completed our fundraiser for Dr Johan Marais and his outstanding team "Saving the Survivors" who saved "Hope" a female rhino and one of the most memorable and courageous survivors of a vicious poaching attack. In March we will be heading to South Africa to film Dr Johan and Zoe Glyphis for a follow up on their outstanding and courageous work.
Raising Funds for Wildlife Veterinarian, Dr Johan Marais of "Saving the Survivors"
Meet Dr Johan Marais: a wildlife vet in South Africa, specializing in saving the victims of poaching attacks. Dr Marais and his small team provide aid and rescue for any animal injured and left for dead by vicious poachers and wildlife traffickers.
Dr Marais and his small team work tirelessly "Saving the Survivors" of poaching incidents but their expertise has helped all manner of wildlife in Africa. All too often, the victims of these attacks end up being the elephant and rhino calves left behind after the mother is killed for her horn.
What will the funds be used for?
We'll be listing all of the items that will be purchased to help Dr Johan do his work with the funds that are raised in this campaign. This fundraiser will help buy everything from vaccines to syringes and medical equipment to educational outreach. The more he teaches the local communities about saving these magnificent animals, the more chance they have of survival.
